In today’s podcast Michael Janisch talks about his long-standing love affair with the bass.
Michael Janisch emerged as a force to be reckoned with his 2010 solo album, Purpose Built, yet almost slipped away under the radar while setting up his own record label, only to build up a headwind of critical approval with his latest release, Paradigm Shift. A superb upright and electric player, Michael’s approach is to build everything around his effortless sense of melody, rhythmic ideas and a killer band. Listening to the latest album, it sounds as though he’s been saving up a whole load of new ideas.
In this episode you're going to learn:
About Michael’s time at the Berklee College of Music
How he established a career in London
All about his record label, Whirlwind Recordings
How he juggles his time between the electric and double bass
As you can probably tell... I'm so excited to release this to you! Give it a listen and then, and if you’re up for it, leave the show a review in iTunes…
… It costs nothing, and it’d mean the world to me because it helps other bass players who are interested in listening and learning from some of the best players in the world to find the show and start making progress.
